Double-digit gains pushed the November Class III price toward $13.

On Dec. 1, the USDA announced the Class III price for November will be $12.84, a 52-cent increase from October. It also is just 51 cents shy of the November 2005 price of $13.35.

The Class II price also posted a double-digit gain — up 19 cents to $11.98. One year ago it was $13.49. The Class IV price advanced 60 cents to $12.11. One year ago, the Class IV price was $12.90.

Cheese prices trended downward as November drew to a close. On Nov. 30, both block and barrel cheese prices settled at $1.35 per pound at the Chicago Mercantile Exchange.
