CONWAY, Mo. (AP) — The Missouri attorney general has sued a family for distributing raw milk away from their family farm in southern Missouri.
The Springfield News Leader reported Sunday that the suit seeks to stop Armand and Teddi Bechard of Conway from setting up drop-off points for the sale of their unprocessed milk.
It is legal in Missouri to sell raw milk from the farms or deliver it directly to the customer. But it's illegal for a farmer to distribute unprocessed milk or offer it for sale at a market or in a parking lot.
The couple's daughters distributed raw milk twice in April from a Springfield parking lot to customers who had pre-ordered it from the Bechard Family Farm.
The case stems from undercover inspectors approaching them and asking whether they had extra milk to sell.
