A new case of foot and mouth disease has occurred in England, government officials confirmed Wednesday. An immediate ban was placed on livestock movement in England, Scotland and Wales.

Authorities don’t know if the virus in the outbreak is related to that from the previous cases. Tests to confirm will take several days.

Meanwhile, the European Union banned the export of British meat, dairy and livestock products. The EU had planned to declare Britain free of FMD in November.
