The board of directors of the National Milk Producers Federation has approved a plan to explore a voluntary national program that could help bring supply and demand more in balance and boost producer prices.

The board approved the creation of the Cooperatives Working Together program. It is a voluntary, producer-funded and producer-directed program that will explore ways to manage supply and help increase dairy demand. During the next month, the group will outline several options and present them to the board. If approved, those initiatives will then be put to member cooperatives for approval and implementation nationwide.
