PDPW announces Dairy Connect training

Tired of misinformation? Feel uncomfortable when asked a tough question about your dairy business? Wish others understood agriculture and the food system?

Learn to effectively tell the story of agriculture, communicate the correct information and tackle the tough questions about the dairy industry with Dairy ConnectTM, a communications training developed and coordinated by Professional Dairy Producers of Wisconsin (PDPW).

Geared for those who are up to the challenge of professional media and communications training, the first-ever Dairy Connect training will be held Sept. 13 in Middleton, Wis., starting at 8:30 a.m. Led by a pair of national trainers, this one-day training with challenge and prepare you for the toughest situation and any “nightmare” questions.

Dairy Connect is a training program that will provide you with the speaking skills and communication tools necessary to ensure that your community, the general public and the media are aware of the positive story you have to tell.

“Professional Dairy Producers of Wisconsin is proud to release this one-of-a-kind training that will enable dairy producers to represent our industry and speak up about a variety of issues,” says Shelly Mayer, PDPW executive director. “The future of our industry relies on effective communications, and we need dairy producers and industry to positively represent their industry wherever they go.”

Dairy producers know what they’re doing on their dairy – and they’re doing all they can to produce the highest quality dairy products. As dairy producers and industry professionals, we know that dairy producers are experts, stewards and business-minded citizens. But others don’t. You are essential to spreading the industry’s positive message of innovation, high standards and stewardship.

Cost is $150 for PDPW members and $175 for anyone else who would like to attend. Registration includes all meals, conference fees and training materials. PDPW educational programs, such as Dairy Connect, are open to anyone involved with the dairy industry.
