In a continuing series of innovative products developed in partnership with the dairy checkoff, another new menu item is being introduced at Pizza Hut®, the nation’s No. 1 pizza chain. Beginning April 24 for a limited time, the chain is offering their “3 Cheese Stuffed Pizza” through May 28 at their nearly 6,600 stores nationwide.

Members of the dairy checkoff-funded chef advisory panel worked with Pizza Hut to create a stuffed-crust pizza that uses a blend of Parmesan, Mozzarella and Cheddar cheeses in the crust edge. The chain is supporting the launch with television and radio spots, in-store signs and online promotions.

“Dairy producer checkoff investments build partnerships with Pizza Hut and other major marketers to increase sales of U.S. dairy products and ingredients,” said Paul Rovey, an Arizona dairy producer and chairman of Dairy Management Inc.™, which manages the national dairy checkoff.

Earlier this year, the national dairy promotion and research program helped in the development of the chain’s “Dippin’ Strips,” a pizza sliced into 1” by 4”, easy-to-hold pizza strips that are perfect for dipping.

Through the checkoff, the new pizza will be promoted at www.ilovecheese.comand through the “Cheese Chatter” electronic newsletter, which reaches more than 30,000 consumers nationwide.
