Illinois-based Prairie Farms reportedly has lost some of its business with Wal-Mart.

According to an article in the Illinois Times, Wal-Mart has decided to purchase milk sold locally under its Great Value label from a company in Texas rather than Prairie Farms.

Prairie Farms has provided milk to Wal-Mart, sold under both the Great Value label and its own Prairie Farms-branded products.

“We did lose some volume from them, but we are also maintaining a significant volume with them, and we’ll try to make up the lost volume through other retailers,” Prairie Farms CEO Ed Mullins is quoted as saying in the article.
