The dairy industry has hired Suze Orman, personal finance expert and host of “The Suze Orman Show” on CNBC, to promote milk as a bargain in these recessionary times. She even sports a milk moustache in one advertisement.

It’s known as “recession marketing.”

Messages urge people to stay home and cook dinner instead of spending money at a restaurant, do their own house-cleaning, gardening and home repair, and buy merchandise that saves them money, according to a recent item on National Public Radio.
