The San Francisco Examiner reports the Board of Supervisors passed Supervisor Sophie Maxwell’s resolution to make every Monday Vegetarian Day or Veg Day.

Under the legislation all restaurants, grocery stores and schools are persuaded to offer more plant-based options and to increase the awareness and impact a vegetarian lifestyle has on the planet.

Maxwell, a vegetarian, presented the legislation which was unanimously approved. “With this resolution, San Francisco can join the growing list of communities that have taken action to encourage citizens to choose vegetarian foods as a way to protect the planet and their health.”
