Scholarships available to students in dairy-related fields

The National Dairy Promotion and Research Board (NDPRB) will award scholarships to undergraduate college students for the 2001-2002 school year.

The NDPRB, through Dairy Management, Inc., awards $1,500 scholarships annually to as many as 19 sophomore, junior and senior undergraduate students enrolled in dairy-related university programs. Majors can include: dairy science, ag journalism/communications, marketing, business, economics, nutrition, food science and ag education.

Scholarships are awarded to students with outstanding academic achievement, demonstrated leadership, initiative and integrity.

The NDPRB also awards a $2,500 James H. Loper Jr. Memorial Scholarship to an outstanding scholarship recipient.

Students can apply for these scholarships at Applications must include an official transcript of completed university credits and letter of recommendation from a faculty member. Applications are due by May 30.
