Put this one in the “you’ve got to be kidding me file.”

Two Michigan teens claim that they shot an Angus cow with a bow and arrow in self-defense on the night of July 13 in Garfield Township, Mich. That was after they climbed through an electric fence to get to the pasture and shined a flashlight on the 4-year-old animal. The pair had allegedly told others they were going on a “big game hunt.”

Kody M. Richardson, 17, and Jared R. Kaltenbach, 18, are accused of killing or torturing an animal and face a felony charge, according to the Lansing State Journal.

Farm owner Bob Boeve said he was very pleased with how the sheriff’s department handled the case.
