Calcium from dairy products may help reduce fat absorption after a meal, according to research published in the March issue of the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition.
The study reports that levels of triacylglycerol — a lipid found in the blood after a meal is absorbed — were 15 percent to 19 percent lower in study participants who consumed calcium from dairy products versus a calcium carbonate supplement.
