Wisconsin Governor Jim Doyle has signed into law a program that provides a 10 percent income and franchise tax credit for dairy producers that modernize their farms.
Called the Wisconsin Dairy Investment Tax Credit, the program begins immediately and runs through 2009. Producers with 35 or more acres of land that dairy are eligible for the program which allows for a tax credit equal to 10 percent of the improvement cost or a total of $50,000.
The bill was introduced by Rep. Al Ott, chairman of the Assembly Agriculture Committee.
