Vermont residents will soon be able to buy a new brand of milk. Vermont Co-op Milk is a joint venture between three cooperatively-run grocery stores — Hunger Mountain Co-op in Montpelier, Middlebury Natural Foods Co-op and City Market/Onion River Co-op in Burlington — and Monument Farms Dairy.

Monument Farms Dairy has been processing and bottling its own branded milk for years. Through the new Vermont Co-op Milk the grocery stores have agreed to pay the dairy a fair and fixed price for the milk.  That will provide the dairy as well as consumers with a stable-priced product.

The new brand will be sold in plastic gallon jugs and should be available in stores in June. All milk from Monument Farms Dairy is produced without the use of added bovine growth hormones.
