More than $1 million in funding is available to help central California dairy producers develop waste-management plans.

The new project is being run by Western United Dairymen and USDA's Natural Resources Conservation Service, and involves working with a California Registered Professional to prepare waste-management plans and improve water quality protection on farms.

The application period will close on July 31. To file an application, contact your local NRCS office. Appointments are advised. If you have questions about the program, contact the local NRCS office or contact Western United Dairymen staff, including Paul Martin at (707) 763-8874 or Paul Sousa at (209) 527-6453.
