The Wisconsin Milk Marketing Board's campaign, “Wisconsin Dairy Impact, The Untold Story” is designed to highlight the dairy industry's impact on Wisconsin's economy. The
second phase begins, utilizing an ad appearing in papers across the state, titled, “Next Door Neighbor.”

The ad discusses the dairy industry's impact on Wisconsin's employment picture. According to the Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Affairs (DATCP), one in five Wisconsin jobs works directly in agriculture and the dairy business. With the dairy industry playing such a large role in employing Wisconsin residents, the industry helps “decide who your neighbors are and what they do.” To view the current ad as well as the previous ad, visit http://prodcom.wislink.org/.

“Dairy continues to work overtime as a major economic engine in this state, helping produce countless jobs while spurring new industries,” said James Robson, CEO of WMMB. “Each year the dairy industry generates $20 billion for our state's economy. No other single product produced in this state creates a greater economic impact than milk.”

WMMB's “Impact Campaign,” began in October of 2001, and current campaign efforts will continue through May of 2002. The Wisconsin Milk Marketing Board, a non-profit organization funded by the state's dairy producers, promotes the awareness and consumption of Wisconsin's dairy products.
