Wisconsin cheese company fined

The state of Wisconsin says that Specialty Cheese Company, Inc., allegedly failed to comply with laws governing plans, reports and permits for its ridge and furrow system at its two processing facilities.

The Wisconsin Attorney General announced yesterday that his office has reached an agreement with the cheese-maker to settle the issue.

To meet the terms of the agreement, Specialty Cheese Company, Inc., agreed to pay $25,000 in forfeitures, cost and penalties. In addition, the company has made other improvements to its facilities and protocols.
