Northcentral TechnicalCollege in Wausau, Wis., recently announced that it will bring back its agriculture program this fall after shutting it down a few years ago. The action is due to local demand from dairy producers and businesses.

Based on this public input, school officials say the new ag program will be updated from the previous program and address current industry needs. It will be designed to help graduates deal with a rapidly changing business climate, as well as emphasize core competencies like animal husbandry.

The new dairy science program will partner with Dairyland State Academy, a two-year associate degree program in the works that will be a collaboration between the University of Wisconsin — Marathon County and the University of Wisconsin — River Falls.
