Badgerland Financial, the Wisconsin Farm Bureau Federation and UW-Cooperative Extension are pleased to announce a new partnership to host the first-ever Wisconsin Ag Women’s Summit on March 18-19, 2011, at the Kalahari Resort in Wisconsin Dells.
“If you’re a woman in agriculture, the Summit is the place you’ll want to be next March,” says Tammy Beard, senior marketing coordinator for Badgerland Financial and planning committee member. “Whether you work on a farm, are an agribusiness professional or are passionate about agriculture, you’ll be able to connect with other women in ag while hearing from speakers on a wide variety of topics and issues. Attending will be an investment in you.”
The theme for the 2011 Wisconsin Ag Women’s Summit is “Reach the Unreached: Awaken the You You’re Meant to Be.” Former Olympic runner and Wisconsin native Suzy Favor Hamilton will be the Summit’s keynote speaker. Her unique story and the lessons she’s learned on and off the track serve as motivation for women of all ages and backgrounds. A full agenda and registration details will be released at a later date.
“Farm Bureau has been seeking to improve its outreach and engagement of agricultural women,” says Dale Beaty, Wisconsin Farm Bureau’s director of training and leadership development. “It’s exciting for Farm Bureau to be working with Badgerland Financial and UW-Extension’s Heart of the Farm program to offer a premier event for women.”
