Yogurt consumption to double in 4 years

Danone, the world’s largest yogurt maker, expects double-digit percentage dairy sales growth in the U.S. over the long-term and aims to double per capita consumption in that market within four years, reports Reuters.

According to the report the U.S. consumption of yogurt is six times lower than in Western Europe.

At the Reuters Food and Agriculture Summit in Chicago, Ill., Gustavo Valle, chief executive officer of Danone, said the company's yogurt brands, including Activia, are growing 15 percent in 2010.
