Diet-conscious Americans now have another reason to eat calcium-rich yogurt more often. New research from the University of Tennessee shows that yogurt helps your body burn more fat.
During the 12 week study, dieters who ate three servings of fat free yogurt daily lost 61 percent more body fat, 81 percent more body fat around the middle and 22 percent more weight — about 13 pounds —than their counterparts who consumed low-calcium diets.
The research was presented today at the American Society for Nutritional Sciences program at the Experimental Biology meeting in San Diego.
