Feeder Cattle Weighted Average Report for 10/03/2012
 
Receipts:  1954    Last Week:  2160    Year Ago:  2748
 
   Compared to last week:  Steer and heifer calves under 500 lbs. 
2.00-3.00 higher, heavier weights mostly steady in fairly light test.
Yearling cattle not established.  Demand good for calves in moderate 
to thin flesh, moderate at best for fleshy and un-weaned calves.  
Quality average to attractive.  Heifers made up 44 percent of supply 
and 17 percent of offerings were over 600 lbs.
   Slaughter cows and bulls steady to 1.00 higher.  Packer demand 
good.  Total of 471 cows and bulls sold with 77 percent going to packers.
