Feeder Cattle Weighted Average Report for 01/30/2013
 
Receipts:  957    Last Week:  1670    Year Ago:  972
 
   Compared to last week:  Calves under 400 lbs steady, heavier weights 
3.00-5.00 higher erasing last week's losses.  Yearling cattle not 
tested.  Demand very good for all offerings.  Overall quality very 
plain this week.  Fill conditions generally favored sellers.  Much 
of the trade area received light to moderate rainfall on Tuesday. 
Heifers made up 46 percent of offerings and calves over 600 lbs made
up 22 percent of supply.
   Slaughter cows 4.00-6.00 higher except light cows 1.00-2.00 higher
in a light test.  Slaughter bulls 2.00-3.00 higher.  Packer demand very
good.  272 cows and bulls sold with 49 percent going to packers.
