Amarillo Livestock Auction Summary, Amarillo, TX - 02/04/2013

Cattle and Calves: 704      Week Ago:  892     Year Ago:  429 

   Compared to last week:  Feeder steers and heifers sold weak to 3.00 lower on 
limited comparable sales.  Steer and heifer calves were not well tested.  Trade 
activity and demand were moderate to good.  Offering included a few loads of 
heifers weighing 750-800 lbs and one load of steers weighing 825 lbs.  Slaughter 
cows were steady to 2.00 higher.  Slaughter bulls were not well tested last 
week.  Slaughter cows and bulls made up 9 percent, 1 percent replacement and 90 
percent feeders.  Feeder supply consisted of 35 percent steers and bulls, 65 
percent heifers.  Near 92 percent of the run weighed over 600 lbs.

   Steers:  Medium and Large 1 few 342 lbs 217.00; few 414 lbs 211.00; few 472 
lbs 184.00; few 655 lb calves 146.50; few 780 lbs 143.00, few 794 lb calves 
139.00; load 826 lbs 145.25, few 819 lbs fleshy 134.00.
   Medium and Large 1-2 lot 823 lbs 133.00. 
   Holsteins:  Large 3 few 709 lbs 85.00; lot 835 lbs 86.00.
          
   Feeder Bulls:  Medium and Large 1 few 482 lbs 160.00.

   Heifers: Medium and Large 1  400-450 lbs 169.00-170.00; 600-650 lbs 136.50-
138.00; 700-800 lbs 134.00-135.00, few 754 lb calves 128.00.
   Medium and Large 1-2 few 382 lbs 156.00; 650-700 lbs 130.00-131.50; 750-800 
lbs 125.00-131.50, few 777 lbs thin fleshed 135.00.
   Medium and Large 2  750-800 lbs 119.00-121.00.
