Feeder Cattle Weighted Average Report for 05/10/12
Receipts: 965 Last Week: 2,091 Last Year: 1,953
Compared to last week: Feeder and stocker cattle not well tested. Feeding
cows sold mostly steady however 2-3 yr old sold 2.00 to 4.00 lower in a light
test. Slaughter cows sold steady to 2.00 higher with full advance on Boner
cows. Slaughter bulls sold steady to 2.00 lower. Demand moderate to good.
Approximately, 12 percent feeder and stocker cattle; 18 percent feeding cows;
5 percent bred cows; 52 percent slaughter cows; 3 percent slaughter bulls with
the balance pairs and misc. cattle. In the feeder supply, steers/bulls made
up 44 percent of the run; heifers 56 percent; steers and heifers over 600 lbs
totaled 76 percent. All bred stock sold by the head and pairs sold per pair,
unless otherwise stated. All bred cows and heifers represented to calve
before May 15th, unless otherwise stated.
