Feeder Cattle Auction Report for 01/18/13

      Compared to last week, steer calves weighing 400-500 lbs and 600-700 lb 
steers traded mostly steady on a light test, with all other weights of steer and 
heifer calves selling with a lower undertone on a light test of feeder cattle.  
Friday's sale was a Special Bred Cow Sale that included a nice offering of good 
quality bred heifers and young bred cows that sold with good demand on active 
trading.  Slaughter cows traded steady.  Receipts were made up of 55 percent 
bred cows and slaughter cows with the balance feeders.  The feeder supply 
consisted of 43 percent steers and 57 percent heifers with near 53 percent 
weighing over 600 lbs.
