Central U.S. Daily Direct Feedlot Slaughter Cattle Report as of 3:15 PM

On Wednesday negotiated cash trade was at a standstill in all feeding
regions. Wednesday afternoon boxed beef cutout values were weak to lower on
moderate demand and moderate to heavy offerings. Choice was down .63 at 190.98
with Select down 1.98 to close at 185.10 on 302 loads. The hide and offal value
from a typical slaughter steer for today was estimated at 13.67 per cwt live,
down -0.01 when compared to Tuesday's value. The estimated cattle slaughter for
Wednesday was reported at 124,000. June CME live cattle contracts were up .45 to
close at 116.87.

and volume collected from feedlots or their representatives cooperating
on a voluntary basis. This report will be released at 3:30pm daily and
more frequently during active trading periods.
