Today’s Estimated Sales Volume:
Trading is at a standstill in all major feeding regions. Boxed beef cutout values
are higher on Choice and steady on Select with moderate demand and light to moderate
offerings. Select rib, round and loin cuts are weak while Choice firm to higher;
Select and Choice chuck cuts are steady to weak. Beef trimmings are generally steady
on light to moderate demand and offerings. Choice cuts are 2.08 higher at 194.59 and
Select cuts are .09 lower at 186.47 with a load count of 195. The hide and offal value
from a typical slaughter steer for today was estimated at 13.35 per cwt live, down
-0.10 when compared to Friday's value. Estimated Daily Cattle Slaughter under Federal
Inspection was estimated at 126,000 head with a week ago at 127,000 and year ago at
131,000.

and volume collected from feedlots or their representatives cooperating
on a voluntary basis. This report will be released at 3:30pm daily and
more frequently during active trading periods.
