On Wednesday negotiated cash trade was mostly inactive on light demand in all
feeing regions. Wednesday afternoon boxed beef cutout values lower on light
demand and light to moderate offerings. Choice was down .99 at 190.92 with
Select also down .99 to close at 180.95 on 230 loads. The hide and offal value
from a typical slaughter steer for today was estimated at 13.43 per cwt live, up
0.01 when compared to Tuesday's value. The estimated cattle slaughter for
Wednesday was reported at 123,000. August live cattle contracts were up .57 at
119.40 with October contracts up 1.75 to close at 125.50.

more frequently during active trading periods.
