Central U.S. Daily Direct Feedlot Slaughter Cattle Report as of 3:50 PM
Today's Estimated Sales Volume: 17,000
On Friday negotiated cash trade was slow on light to moderate demand in all
feeding regions. Few live sales traded in the Texas Panhandle at 126.00 with
limited sales in Kansas at 125.00. In Nebraska dressed sales traded from 202.00-
203.00. 5-Area negotiated week to date cash trade per Mandatory Price Reporting.
6,853 in the Texas Panhandle; 14,523 in Kansas; 25,977 in Nebraska; 6,560 in
Colorado and 13,824 in Iowa. Friday afternoon boxed beef cutout values were firm
on Choice and weak on Select on light to moderate demand and offerings. Choice
was up .43 at 194.24 with Select down .47 to close at 183.49 on 157 loads. The
hide and offal value from a typical slaughter steer for today was estimated at
13.53 per cwt live, down -0.01 when compared to Thursday's value. The estimated
cattle slaughter for Friday was reported at 110,000 with 13,000 for Saturday for
a week to date estimate of 624,000.

on a voluntary basis. This report will be released at 3:30pm daily and
more frequently during active trading periods.
