Central U.S. Daily Direct Feedlot Slaughter Cattle Report as of 3:50 PM

  On Tuesday negotiated cash trade was mostly inactive on light demand in all 
feeding regions. Boxed beef cutout values are weak to lower on light demand with 
light to moderate offerings. Choice cuts are .72 lower at 186.89 and Select cuts
are 1.32 lower at 181.10. Choice/Select spread is 5.79 with 170 loads. The hide 
and offal value from a typical slaughter steer for today was estimated at 13.71 
per cwt live, up 0.08 when compared to Monday's value. Tuesday estimated cattle
slaughter is 123,000 head compared to last week at 126,000 and a year ago at
125,000.

more frequently during active trading periods.
