Central U.S. Daily Direct Feedlot Slaughter Cattle Report as of 3:50 pm

Today's Reported Sales Volume:   2,000  
Today's Estimated Sales Volume:  3,000  
 
 On Thursday negotiated cash trade was light on moderate demand in Iowa with a 
few early sales at 128.00 and 203.00. In Nebraska trade is mostly inactive on 
light to moderate demand with most producers continuing to pass current bids. In 
the Southern Plains and Colorado trade is at a standstill. Thursday afternoon 
boxed beef cutout values were steady to weak on light to moderate demand and 
offerings. Choice was unchanged compared to Wednesday at 191.54 with Select down 
.31 to close at 184.50 on 180 loads. The hide and offal value from a typical 
slaughter steer for today was estimated at 14.34 per cwt live, down -0.03 when 
compared to Wednesday's value. The estimated cattle slaughter for Thursday was 
reported at 122,000. April CME live cattle contracts were up .67 to close at 
127.60.

on a voluntary basis. This report will be released at 3:30pm daily and
more frequently during active trading periods.
