Feeder Cattle Weighted Average Report for 02/07/2013
Cattle and Calves: 1621 Week ago: 1686 Year Ago: 1340
Compared to week ago: Feeder steers and heifers under 500 lbs steady; 500-
700 lbs steady to 1.00 higher; 700-900 lbs steady to 2.00 lower. Slaughter cows
1.00-2.00 higher. Slaughter bulls steady. Trade fairly active. Demand good,
especially for summer grazing type cattle. Body condition on receipts mostly
moderate flesh with a few fleshy. Bulk supply Medium and Large 1-2 350-900 lb
feeder steers and heifers. Slaughter cows made up 19 percent, slaughter bulls
less than 1 percent, replacement cows 0 percent, and feeders 81 percent. The
feeder supply included 69 percent steers and 31 percent heifers. Near 88
percent of the run weighed over 600 lbs.
