Georgia Cattle Auctions Daily Summary
Georgia Cattle Auctions that were held Monday Feb 25, 2013
Cattle auctions at Blackshear (69), Carroll Co. (362), Eastanollee
(211), Fitzgerald (96), Swainsboro (302) and Thomaston (27). Receipts
Monday 1,067 week ago 1,487 and year ago 2,515. Light receipts due to
weather conditions throughout much of the state. Compared to one week
earlier, slaughter cows steady to 1.00 higher, bulls steady to 3.00
higher, feeder steers and heifers mostly 1.00 to 4.00 higher, steer calves
and heifer calves 1.00 to 5.00 lower, replacement cows unevenly steady.
Slaughter cows 13 percent, slaughter bulls 4 percent and feeders 83
percent. In the feeder supply, steers made up approximately 49 percent
of the run, heifers 39 percent and replacement cows 12 percent, steers
and heifers over 600 lbs totaled around 16 percent.
