   National Slaughter Cattle Summary - Week Ending Jun 07, 2013

   Compared to last week:  Slaughter cattle trade not established
at time of report.  Asking prices and bids remain dollars apart.  
Packers looking at money close to the June contract, but feedyards
wanting at least steady money with last week.  
Boxed beef prices Friday noon averaged 192.98 down 3.95 from last Friday.
The Choice/Select spread is at 17.93.  Slaughter cattle on a national 
basis for negotiated cash trades through Friday noon totaled about 5,763
head.  Last week's total head count was 100,534.

Midwest Direct Markets: 
Live Basis: Steers and Heifers 
   35-80 Percent Choice, 1200-1400 lbs:  Not Established
   Dressed Basis:  Steers and Heifers:   Not Established

South Plains Direct Markets: 
Live Basis: Steers and Heifers 
   35-65 percent Choice, 1100-1400 lbs:  Not Established

Slaughter Cows and Bulls (Average Yielding Prices):
   Slaughter cows sold 1.00 to 4.00 lower.  Slaughter bulls sold 2.00 to 
6.00 lower.  
   USDA's Cutter cow carcass cut-out value Friday morning was 157.79
up .18 from last Friday.
