   National Slaughter Cattle Summary - Week Ending Nov 15, 2013

   Compared to last week:  Slaughter cattle trading 1.00 higher in the 
South Plains. No information available for Midwest direct markets.  Boxed 
beef prices Friday at noon averaged 194.72 down 1.76.  The Choice/Select 
spread is at 12.96.  Slaughter cattle on a national basis for negotiated 
cash trades through Friday afternoon totaled about 7,000.  Last week's 
total head count was 99,092.

Midwest Direct Markets: 
Live Basis: Steers and Heifers 
   35-80 Percent Choice, 1200-1400 lbs:  not established
   Dressed Basis:   Steers and Heifers:  not established

South Plains Direct Markets: 
Live Basis: Steers and Heifers 
   35-65 percent Choice, 1100-1400 lbs:  132.00

Slaughter Cows and Bulls (Average Yielding Prices):
   Slaughter cows and bulls mostly steady.   
   USDA's Cutter cow carcass cut-out value Friday morning was 156.15.
