Weekly Cattle Summary for the Week of 03/04/2013.
Receipts This Week: 9788 Last Week: 3634 Last Year: 10,529
Compared to the last test two weeks ago: Feeder steers steady with
exception of cattle over 800 lbs 1.00 to 2.00 lower. Feeder heifers
steady to 2.00 lower. Steer and heifer calves under 500 lbs lightly
tested and 5.00-10.00 lower; stocker cattle over 500 lbs steady.
Demand improved some from last week's lightly tested lower weather
market, however feedyards remain very muddy from last week's blizzard.
There was a bright spot last week as slaughter cattle sold up to 5.00
higher at 128.00. Good moisture was received across the state last
week with 1-3 inches being reported in most areas of the state. Receipts
this week totaled 82 percent over 600 lbs and 35 percent heifers.

Slaughter bulls mostly steady. Packer demand remains good. Total of 361
