SC Farm Report on Monday
National direct slaughter cattle weekly summary. Weighted averages for all
grades, Standard to Prime, mostly Select and Choice. Live FOB steers 1,383 lbs
at 126.04, heifers 1,293 lbs at 126.14. Dressed delivered steers 894 lbs at 203.53,
heifers 797 lbs at 203.45. Weekly boxed beef cutout values for 600-900 carcass weights
Choice down 0.51 at 193.81 and Select up 1.09 at 183.38.
National direct feeder pigs last week, per head weighted average prices are
delivered to the buyer's farm. Early weaned pigs and all feeder pigs mostly steady.
Demand was moderate on moderate offerings. Feeder pigs 10-12 lbs cash basis 59.82; 40
lbs cash basis 70.87.
Hogs on Friday. Plant delivered weighted average. National direct Barrows & Gilts US
1 50-54% lean 240-300 lbs 63.36, down 0.04. Sows live price 300-450 lbs 45.89, 450-500
lbs 52.95, 500-550 lbs 54.04.
SC Grain on Monday. Corn was 7 to 10 cents higher, processor bids 7.44-8.24.
Soybeans were 41 to 45 cents higher, elevator bids 13.18-13.88, processor bid
14.18. Wheat was steady to 12 cents higher, elevator bids 5.64-6.67, Columbia 7.75.
Cotton on Monday. Southeast base price for 41-4/34 grade was 72.77.
