Feeder Cattle Auction Report for 3/13/13

Receipts:  2607    Last Week:  1626    Year Ago:  1810

   Compared to last week, steer calves 5.00 to 10.00 lower, yearling steers and
heifer calves steady to 4.00 lower, yearling heifers unevenly steady.  Holsteins
steady compared to a light test last week.  Demand moderate, supply moderate to
heavy.  A Special Holstein Sale was held in conjunction with the regular feeder
cattle sale with a good offering of Holstein and Holstein Cross steers in medium
to thin flesh.  The recent snow and rainfall has replenished stock water, the
temperature is starting to warm-up and grass is around the corner.  The feeder
supply included 31 percent steers, 36 percent Holsteins, 27 percent heifers, 07
percent bulls, with 45 percent over 600 lbs.
