   Compared to Saturday's Stock Show Special:  Feeder steers weighing under 500 
pounds traded mostly 5.00 to 6.00 higher, with instances of 10.00 to 15.00 
higher on long weaned calves weighing between 300 to 400 pounds.  Steers 
weighing between 500 to 700 pounds steady, with yearlings weighing over 700 
pounds trading weak to 2.00 lower.  Heifers weighing under 700 pounds traded 
steady to 1.00 higher.  Yearling heifers weighing over 700 pounds mostly steady 
to 1.00 lower.  Quality was attractive as the majority of the consignments 
consisted of long weaned calves with strong fall vaccination programs, but 
calves were carrying more flesh when compared to Saturday's sale.  No recent 
comparison on slaughter cows and bulls, therefore no trend is available this 
week.  Trading activity was active on good buyer demand.  The supply consisted 
of 98 percent feeder cattle, 2 percent slaughter cows and bulls, and the 
remainder feeding cos.  The feeder cattle supply was comprised of approximately 
50 percent steers and 50 percent heifers.  About 59 percent of the feeder supply 
weighted over 600 lbs.
