Wednesday and Thursday, January 30-31, 2013
2869 Ton Alfalfa Hay Offered
138 Ton Alfalfa/Grass Hay Offered
Compared to three weeks ago hay prices were steady to firm. Demand moderate to
good for hay offered that consisted of mostly third cutting alfalfa. This hay
auction was a two day timed offering where all buyers bid on the internet. All
sales were FOB the farm or ranch. Hay sold by the ton in semi-load lots on-line.
All hay has been tested with results available for each lot. Hay was consigned
from Wyoming, Nebraska, Montana, and Kansas. Hay offered was first through
fourth cutting, mostly third.
