moderate offerings. Select and Choice rib, chuck and loin cuts steady to firm
while round items weak.  Beef trimmings firm on moderate demand and light to 
moderate offerings.

  Estimated composite cutout value of Choice 1-3 600-900 lbs 
carcasses UP 0.14 at 190.47; Select 1-3 600-900 lbs carcasses 
UP 0.62 at 186.46; based on 86.87 loads of Choice cuts, 61.62 
loads of Select cuts, 10.55 loads of Trimmings, and 30.69
loads of coarse ground trimmings.

CARCASS PRICE EQUIVALENT INDEX VALUE
    Estimated carcass price equivalent value of Choice 1-3 600-900 lbs 
carcasses UNCHANGED at 176.63; Select 1-3 600-900 lbs carcasses UP 0.23
at 172.35.
   Current index reflects the equivalent of 139,357 head of cattle.

NATIONAL 5 DAY-ROLLING CUTTER COW CUTOUT 

   The Cutter cow carcass gross cutout value was estimated at 176.91
UP 0.50.

BY-PRODUCT DROP VALUE
   Hide and offal from a typical slaughter steer was estimated at 
13.73, UP 0.01.

NATIONAL CARLOT PORK  
   Sales reported on 134.5 loads of pork cuts and 5.0 loads of 
trim/process pork.
    Compared to Monday's Close:     Fresh loins steady to weak;
butts weak to 1.00 lower; sknd hams 20-23 lbs 3.00-5.00 higher, 23-27 lbs steady;  sdls bellies not tested; lean trimmings 2.00 higher. Trading slow to moderate, with light to moderate demand and offerings.

   *Calculations for a 200 lb Pork Carcass 53-54 percent lean 
0.65" -0.80" back fat at last rib.* **77.76 DN 0.18.**  Loins bone 
in fresh 1/4 inch trim 21# DN-LGT 115.00-120.00; Hams bone in trimmed, 
20-23 lbs trim spec 1 68.00-70.00.
