  Boxed beef cutout values firm to higher on moderate demand and 
light to moderate offerings. Select and Choice chuck, round and loin 
items firm to higher while rib cuts weak. Beef trimmings lower on 
light demand and light to moderate offerings. 

  Estimated composite cutout value of Choice 1-3 600-900 lbs 
carcasses UP 0.58 at 191.61; Select 1-3 600-900 lbs carcasses 
UP 1.38 at 187.08; based on 89.25 loads of Choice cuts, 80.44 
loads of Select cuts, 7.16 loads of Trimmings, and 32.22
loads of coarse ground trimmings.

CARCASS PRICE EQUIVALENT INDEX VALUE
    Estimated carcass price equivalent value of Choice 1-3 600-900 lbs 
carcasses UP 0.29 at 177.73; Select 1-3 600-900 lbs carcasses UP 0.69
at 172.19.
   Current index reflects the equivalent of 173,668 head of cattle.

NATIONAL 5 DAY-ROLLING CUTTER COW CUTOUT 

   The Cutter cow carcass gross cutout value was estimated at 178.51
UP .07.

BY-PRODUCT DROP VALUE
   Hide and offal from a typical slaughter steer was estimated at 
13.68, UNCHANGED.

NATIONAL CARLOT PORK  
   Sales reported on 92.0 loads of pork cuts and 2.0 loads of 
trim/process pork.
    Compared to Monday's Close:     Fresh loins mostly weak; butts
unevenly steady; sknd hams 20-27 lbs 1.00 lower; sdls bellies steady; lean
trimmings not established. Trading slow to moderate, with light to moderate
demand and offerings.

   *Calculations for a 200 lb Pork Carcass 53-54 percent lean 
0.65" -0.80" back fat at last rib.* **82.24 UP 0.25.**  Loins bone 
in fresh 1/4 inch trim 21# DN-LGT 123.00-137.00; Hams bone in trimmed,
