   Boxed beef cutout values lower on Choice while firm on Select 
on light to moderate demand and moderate offerings.  Select and 
Choice chuck items weak, round and loin cuts steady, while rib 
cuts lower on Choice and firm on Select.  Beef trimmings not fully 
established.

  Estimated composite cutout value of Choice 1-3 600-900 lbs 
carcasses DN 1.27 at 194.51; Select 1-3 600-900 lbs carcasses 
UP 0.34 at 175.68; based on 125.60 loads of Choice cuts, 43.21 
loads of Select cuts, 7.80 loads of Trimmings, and 32.28
loads of coarse ground trimmings.

CARCASS PRICE EQUIVALENT INDEX VALUE
    Estimated carcass price equivalent value of Choice 1-3 
600-900 lbs carcasses DN 0.69 at 184.28; Select 1-3 600-900 lbs 
carcasses UP 0.12 at 164.57.
   Current index reflects the equivalent of 117,919 head of cattle.

   The Cutter cow carcass gross cutout value was estimated at 160.27

   Hide and offal from a typical slaughter steer was estimated at 
13.17, UP 0.05.

NATIONAL CARLOT PORK  
   Sales reported on 71.00 loads of pork cuts and 9.0 loads of 
trim/process pork.
    Compared to Wednesday's Close:  Fresh 1/4" trimmed loins 
steady to 2.00 higher; butts steady; sknd hams 20-23 lbs steady to 
3.00 lower, 23-27 lbs mostly weak; sdls bellies 12-16 lbs 5.00 higher; 
lean trimmings steady to 3.00 lower. Trading moderate, with light to 
moderate demand and offerings.

   *Calculations for a 200 lb Pork Carcass 53-54 percent lean 
0.65" -0.80" back fat at last rib.* **83.83 UP 0.25.**  Loins bone 
in fresh 1/4 inch trim 21# DN-LGT 104.00-108.00; Hams bone in trimmed,
