NATIONAL BOXED BEEF CUTOUT
   Boxed beef cutout values steady on Choice and higher on Select on 
light to moderate demand and light offerings. Select and Choice rib, 
chuck and round cuts steady to frim while loin items lower on Choice 
and firm on Select.  Beef trimmings weak on light to moderate demand 
and offerings.

  Estimated composite cutout value of Choice 1-3 600-900 lbs 
carcasses DN 0.21 at 193.94; Select 1-3 600-900 lbs carcasses 
UP 1.57 at 182.62; based on 57.92 loads of Choice cuts, 47.61 
loads of Select cuts, 8.39 loads of Trimmings, and 33.57
loads of coarse ground trimmings.

CARCASS PRICE EQUIVALENT INDEX VALUE
    Estimated carcass price equivalent value of Choice 1-3 600-900 lbs 
carcasses UP 0.02 at 185.49; Select 1-3 600-900 lbs carcasses UP 0.91
at 171.97.
   Current index reflects the equivalent of 142,334 head of cattle.

NATIONAL 5 DAY-ROLLING CUTTER COW CUTOUT 

   The Cutter cow carcass gross cutout value was estimated at 163.59
UP 1.75.

BY-PRODUCT DROP VALUE
   Hide and offal from a typical slaughter steer was estimated at 
13.17, DN 0.06.

NATIONAL CARLOT PORK  
   Sales reported on 68.0 loads of pork cuts and 14.0 loads of 
trim/process pork.
    Compared to Tuesday's Close: Fresh 1/4" trimmed bone-in loins
unevenly steady; butts 1.00 to 3.00 lower; processing cuts not tested; 
lean trimmings steady. Trading slow to moderate, with light demand and 
light to moderate offerings.

   *Calculations for a 200 lb Pork Carcass 53-54 percent lean 
0.65" -0.80" back fat at last rib.* **81.39 DN 1.00.**  Loins bone 
in fresh 1/4 inch trim 21# DN-LGT 100.00-109.00.
