NATIONAL BOXED BEEF CUTOUT
   Boxed Beef cutout values firm to higher on moderate demand and 
offerings. Select and Choice rib and loin cuts steady to firm while 
chuck and round cuts generally steady. Beef trimmings higher on light 
to moderate demand and offerings.

  Estimated composite cutout value of Choice 1-3 600-900 lbs 
carcasses UP 0.97 at 194.91; Select 1-3 600-900 lbs carcasses 
UP 0.66 at 183.28; based on 107.43 loads of Choice cuts, 62.29 
loads of Select cuts, 19.53 loads of Trimmings, and 22.21
loads of coarse ground trimmings.

CARCASS PRICE EQUIVALENT INDEX VALUE
    Estimated carcass price equivalent value of Choice 1-3 600-900 lbs 
carcasses UP 0.50 at 185.99; Select 1-3 600-900 lbs carcasses UP 0.35
at 172.32.
   Current index reflects the equivalent of 136,303 head of cattle.

NATIONAL 5 DAY-ROLLING CUTTER COW CUTOUT 

   The Cutter cow carcass gross cutout value was estimated at 162.45
DN 1.14.

BY-PRODUCT DROP VALUE
   Hide and offal from a typical slaughter steer was estimated at 
13.15, DN 0.02.

NATIONAL CARLOT PORK  
   With the introduction of Mandatory Price Reporting of Wholesale Pork Cuts, 
new options will be available for this information beginning January 7, 2013.  
Included in the changes are reports for negotiated sales, formula sales,
 forward sales, sow and boar pork, export and a comprehensive pork cutout.
   
 Sales reported on 121.46 loads of pork cuts and 23.0 loads of 
trim/process pork.
    Compared to Wednesday's Close:  Fresh 1/4" trimmed bone-in loins
unevenly steady; butts steady to mostly weak; sknd hams 23-27 lbs 2.00 
lower, other weights not tested; sdls bellies 16-18 lbs 5.00 higher; 
lean trimmings steady to 2.00 higher. Trading moderate, with light to 
moderate demand and offerings.

  *Calculations for a 200 lb Pork Carcass 53-54 percent lean 
0.65" -0.80" back fat at last rib.* **83.10 UP 1.71.**  Loins bone 
in fresh 1/4 inch trim 21# DN-LGT 106.00-108.00; 
seedless bellies 16-18 lbs 130.00.
