Compared with last week: steers 700-1000 lbs 6.00-8.00 lower; heifers 600-900
lbs 4.00-6.00 lower, steers and heifers instance 8.00-10.00 lower on cattle
carrying excessive fill and flesh; Steers 700 lbs and under also heifers 600 lbs
and under in a very limited test, steady to weak. Buyers were extremely
selective in their purchases and discounted severely for cattle with excessive
flesh, fill and poor muscle scores. Receipts: 88 percent 600 lbs and over, 10
percent 600 lbs and under, 2 percent slaughter cows and bulls. Feeder supply 59
percent steers and 41 percent heifers.
