U.S. Average Gasoline & Diesel Prices Still Rising
For the fifth week in a row, the U.S. average price for regular
gasoline moved up, increasing three cents to $2.82 per gallon. The
price was $0.86 above the average a year ago and the cumulative
increase during the past five weeks totaled $0.21 per gallon.

Fourth Quarter Energy Earnings Vary Across Business Segments
During the fourth quarter of 2009 (4Q09), earnings of oil and natural
gas producers increased significantly above the levels seen a year
earlier. However, earnings of refiner/marketers and oil field companies
fell sharply in 4Q09 compared to year earlier levels.
