Illinois Grain Prices in Country Elevators

This is Thursday's report of the grain prices and trends prepared by the USDA 
and the Illinois Department of Agriculture.
  
Illinois country grain prices were mixed on Thursday afternoon. Corn closed
higher on stronger than expected export sales. Both old and new crop sales
totaled 3.5 million metric tonnes. Continued long liquidation by the funds
sent soybean values lower. Corn basis improved at many terminals and 
processors with increases of 3 to 6 cents noted.

In Northern and Western Illinois country grain dealers quoted shelled corn 
bids 3 to 8 cents higher at 6.23-6.31. Soybean bids traded 10 to 14 cents 
lower at 14.42-14.57.
 
In Central Illinois country grain dealers quoted shelled corn bids were 
3 to 10 cents higher at 6.27-6.46. Soybean bids were 10 to 13 cents lower at 
14.52-14.65.

In the Southern part of the state, shelled corn bids were 3 to 8 cents 
higher at 6.39-6.50. Soybean bids were 8 to 12 cents lower at 14.58-14.76. 
Wheat bids were mixed at 5.92-6.10.
