Illinois Grain Prices in Country Elevators
This is Wednesday's report of the grain prices and trends prepared by the USDA
and the Illinois Department of Agriculture.
Illinois country grain prices were higher on Wednesday afternoon, with corn
and wheat sharply higher. Technical and fund buying at the Board of Trade
helped to lift corn and wheat values. Confirmation by private exporters of the
sale of 900,000 tonnes of US corn to China supported stronger corn futures.
In Northern and Western Illinois country grain dealers quoted shelled corn
bids 23 to 25 cents higher at 6.33-6.43. Soybean bids traded 9 to 10 cents
higher at 13.92-14.04.
In Central Illinois country grain dealers quoted shelled corn bids were 23
to 26 cents higher at 6.38-6.58. Soybean bids were mostly 7 to 9 cents higher
at 13.98-14.12.
In the Southern part of the state, shelled corn bids were mostly 23 to 26
cents higher at 6.50-6.67. Soybean bids were mostly 9 cents higher at
14.10-14.26. Wheat bids were 28 to 31 cents higher at 6.20-6.38.
